OUR PRIMARY SOURCE
Originally form the Andes mountains, the alpaca belongs to the camelid family, and Peru is home to 87% of the world’s alpaca population and its three races: huacaya (80% of the population), suri (12%) and hybrids (8%) .

There are different qualities of the alpaca fiber, however, Baby alpaca is one of the most worldwide desired, due to its great smoothness and delicacy.

We work with luxury fibers made of baby alpaca, suri alpaca, royal alpaca, and soon we will offer Vicuña fiber, the most exclusive and luxurious fiber in the world.

ALPACA BENEFITS

  • Alpaca fiber has hygroscopic properties. The fiber has low humidity absorption qualities.
  • It is highly resistant to solar radiation, is flame-retardant (fire extinguishers) and non-flammable.
  • This fiber does not cause allergy, because it is lanolin free, which is perfect for delicate and sensitive skin.
  • It is a very warm wool with thermal and insulating properties, so it keeps body temperature regardless of external conditions, without losing breathability.
  • It is a renewable resource and 100% biodegradable, therefore, it is sustainable and does not harm the environment.
  • Alpaca hair is three times stronger than sheep’s hair, and heats up 7 times more in external conditions.
  • The fiber production of alpaca is classified within fair trade, since it allows to provide fairer wages and better working conditions to the local producers.
